About the Artist

San Diego-born contemporary artist Kyle LeBlanc's practice exists at the intersection of two distinct worlds: the coastal culture of Southern California and the rugged traditions of the American West. While attending college in Idaho, LeBlanc developed a deep appreciation for the cowboy way of life, merging his roots in surf culture with the independence, grit, and romanticism of the Western landscape.

Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, LeBlanc creates expressive compositions that blur the boundaries between personal identity, cultural symbolism, and lived experience. His paintings draw from the contrasting environments that have shaped him, exploring the relationship between freedom, belonging, and the pursuit of an authentic life.

At the heart of his practice, each painting functions as a form of self-portraiture. Rather than depicting himself literally, LeBlanc uses imagery, color, and symbolism to reveal fragments of his identity.
